2008: Ready for action!
Whether you manage a banquet hall, a civic center or the event center for a casino, Extreme Challenge MMA can help you bring the new and exciting world of mixed martial arts to your patrons.
Mixed martial arts (or ultimate fighting) has distanced itself from boxing in astounding numbers. PPV totals show that MMA holds a 2-to-1 edge over boxing and also has surpassed professional wrestling as the top form of combat entertainment in America. In the 18-34 male demographic, MMA is the third most-watched sport in the United States trailing the NFL and NASCAR. The Los Angeles Times has reported that by 2010 MMA viewership will be third among all demographics. It already beats baseball and basketball.
Extreme Challenge has been the Midwest's leader in bringing this "new" sport to the masses. Established in 1996, Extreme Challenge and its off-shoot organizations have been promoted nearly 500 times. Owner Monte Cox is regarded as "The Godfather" of MMA within the sport.
He is the sport's No. 1 manager of fighters, having carved out the careers of seven current or former UFC champions.
Extreme Challenge has held shows in 17 different states and is expanding again in 2008. We've added IEP Inc. to the fold and owners Todd Jackson and Clyde Dorr IV are already booking shows in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and New Mexico.
Monte was recently appointed as CEO/President of M-1 Global, the first truly worldwide MMA promotions company, hosting shows in Japan, Russia, Holland and the U.S. An affiliation of M-1 Global is M-1 USA. Extreme Challenge and M-1 USA now have created a partnership, allowing us to bring you an even higher level of entertainment.
So, why host an MMA show? Again, the answer is simple: your customers. Shows often sell out. For casinos this means increased traffic on gaming floors, new customers and increased revenue. The same can be said for civic centers and other facilities. By the time ticket sales and concessions are factored in to final revenues a night of hosting an Extreme Challenge event can be very profitable. And, who are we kidding, in the end its about customers and making money. We help boost both.
Like we said, 2008 is filling quickly with many dates going to repeat customers who have us come back four to six times a year. |
We are the Midwest's largest and longest-running mixed martial arts promotion company, having done nearly 500 shows in 11 years. Already promoting shows in 17 states, we are expanding in 2008.
Extreme Challenge has launched the careers of seven current or past UFC champions. Many of those fighters -- Rich Franklin, Tim Sylvia, Robbie Lawler, Jens Pulver, Matt Hughes, Sean Sherk -- are available to be SPECIAL GUESTS at your event. Who will be the next star to debut in an Extreme Challenge show? Your event could be the site for the unveiling of the next great champion. We have 41 shows booked for 2008. Dates are filling quickly.
